UNIQUE STUDENT IDENTIFIER
All students will require a Unique Student Identifier. If you do not already have a USI, you can create one online here.
For students who are unable to attend our training rooms, we offer flexible, self-paced distance learning options. However, IRLearning has a dedicated, fully equipped training facility at our North Parramatta office which can cater for classes of up to 25 students. Our training room has:
- Full audio and visual capabilities
- Wi-fi internet access
- For hands-on training and practical assessment, our training facilities provide an extensive range of pool and spa equipment such as pumps and filters
- Access to the complete Australian Standards library
- Kitchen facilities including tea and coffee making.
YOUR TRAINERS AND ASSESSORS
IRLearning trainers and assessors are highly skilled and experienced industry professionals and subject matter experts. As per the National Skills Standards Council (NSSC) requirements, IRLearning Trainer and Assessors:
- have the necessary training and assessment competencies determined by the National Quality Council or its successors; and
- have the relevant vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered or assessed, and
- can demonstrate current industry skills directly relevant to the training / assessment being undertaken, and
- continue to develop their Vocational Education and Training (VET) knowledge and skills as well as their industry currency and trainer/ assessor competence.
- this includes a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment as a minimum and are all actively working within the Swimming Pool and Spa Industry as builders, service technicians and business owners.
The majority of IRLearning training is delivered off site, for you to study at your own pace. IRLearning will supply learner guides (in PDF format) and additional learning resources, where required. Some of your training or assessment may require you to conduct additional research, usually online.
CREDIT AND RECOGNITION
Each qualification provides opportunity for flexibility in assessment pathways. These pathways can be tailored to the individual. For example, pathways may include RPL, training and assessment, credit transfer or a blend of these. Assessment tools are used to gather evidence about a student’s competence.
Regardless of the pathway and your personalised training and assessment plan, IRLearning’s assessment tools are developed in line with the requirements of the relevant Training Packages and the Australian Qualifications Framework.
LANGUAGE LITERACY AND NUMERACY (LLN)
All students are expected to have medium to high language, literacy and numeracy skills to be able to complete IRLearning’s training programs. This means the likelihood of a student with low language, literacy and numeracy skills being accepted onto the course, is extremely rare.
Ultimately it is the choice of the participant as to whether or not they proceed with the enrolment. In a situation where IRLearning has advised against proceeding until LLN skills reach an appropriate level, IRLearning will not be obliged to offer the student a refund or a credit toward participating in a training course at a later date.
In the course of its training services, IRLearning may collect information from students or persons seeking to enrol into a IRLearning program, either electronically or in hard copy format, including information that personally identifies individual users. IRLearning may also record various communications between individuals and IRLearning.
IRLearning will only collect information that is required for the purposes of administration of a student’s education, or in order to meet government reporting requirements.
We understand that at times you may require additional services outside of our area of expertise. A range of services and professional associations including personal and career advisory/counselling services may be available. For most services we can contact the provider on your behalf, or you can self-refer. If you require us to contact one of the services listed on your behalf please talk to your Trainer, or contact IRLearning on 1800 802 482.
All Full Qualifications require an initial fee of $1500 (except approved Smart and Skilled students) to be paid at the time of enrolment, with the remaining balance payable over the next 5 months in equal monthly payments. Alternatively you can apply to enter into a payment plan with Payright. Terms will be specific to the cost of the course that you choose.
Please note: IRLearning will not issue any certificates until all fees have been paid.
All short-course/workshop registrations require payment in full, prior to commencement of the course.
