This qualification provides the individual with the competencies required to routinely maintain swimming pools and spas in domestic, commercial and public settings.

This is a qualification for people working in the swimming pool and spa service sector. It applies to pool and spa technicians in the field who apply analytic and problem-solving skills to treat water quality problems, as well as install, service and repair the key systems and components of domestic swimming pools and spas.

A nationally recognised qualification

There are no entry requirements for this qualification.

  • CPPDSM3009 - Maintain workplace safety in the property industry

  • CPPSPS3001 - Handle, transport and store swimming pool and spa chemicals safely

  • CPPSPS3002 - Perform basic swimming pool and spa measurements and calculations

  • CPPSPS3003 - Maintain swimming pools and spas

  • CPPSPS3004 - Maintain swimming pools and spa water circulation and filtration systems

  • CPPSPS3005 - Maintain swimming pools and spa dosing systems

  • CPPSPS3006 - Maintain swimming pools and spa cleaning and vacuuming systems

  • CPPSPS3008 - Work in the swimming pool and spa servicing industry

  • SISCAQU001 - Test pool water quality

  • SISCAQU004 - Develop and implement pool water maintenance procedures

Up to 24 Months

IRLearning is proud to offer the CPP31218 Certificate III in Swimming Pool and Spa Service with funding support available in Queensland under the Career Start program, managed by the Department of Trade, Employment and Training (DTET).

The program is open to Queensland residents who:

  • Are aged 15 years or over.

  • Are no longer at school.

  • Permanently reside in Queensland.

  • Are an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident (including humanitarian entrants), a temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen.

  • Do not already hold or be enrolled in a certificate III level or higher qualification completed in the last 10 years (qualifications completed while at school and foundation skills qualifications do not count).

After we receive your enrolment, we will confirm your eligibility and advise you of the outcome.

Student Co-contribution Fees

  • The standard student co-contribution fee is $2,000 (non-concessional).

  • The concessional fee is $1,800 for eligible students.

Concessional student status applies if you:

  • Hold a Health Care Card, Veteran Card or Pensioner Concession Card (or are the partner or dependent named on the card).

  • Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander (First Nations).

  • Have a disability.

  • Are an adult prisoner.

Career Start Entitlement
Enrolling in this qualification will use one subsidised training place under the Career Start program. Please consider this carefully, as it may limit your access to subsidised training for other qualifications in the future.
